This weekend, I was invited to Harvard's Hasty Pudding Man of the Year event as a member of the press. This is a huge milestone for me.
This was the first time I’ve been officially invited to cover an event like this, and walking in with that title attached to my name felt so crazy. It wasn’t just anxious about being there, I was being trusted to document a moment that carries history, tradition, and real cultural weight.
The night reminded me how powerful live events are when you’re capturing them in real time. Being there as press meant paying attention differently. Watching expressions, anticipating moments. Looking for the images that tell the story beyond the obvious.
What stood out most was the shift in how I experienced the event. I wasn’t attending, I was working. Every decision; where to stand, when to shoot, what moments to prioritize, was purposeful. It was exciting and grounding all at once.
This opportunity meant a lot because it felt like a step forward. A confirmation that the work I’ve been putting in is leading somewhere. Being invited into a space like this made everything feel more real. I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to cover something with this level of visibility, and even more excited about what it opens the door to next.
